Arrival and Sunset

8:00 AM: Depart Windhoek - Pickup from Windhoek and scenic drive through the Khomas Hochland mountains.

12:00 PM: Lunch Stop - Lunch at Solitaire, famous for its apple pie (included).

3:00 PM: Arrive at Camp - Set up camp at our comfortable desert campsite.

5:00 PM: Sunset Drive - Short drive to view the sunset over the dunes.

7:00 PM: Dinner - Delicious camp dinner prepared by your guide. Stargazing after dinner.

Sossusvlei & Deadvlei

5:00 AM: Early Start - Early wake-up to enter the park before sunrise.

6:00 AM: Dune 45 Sunrise - Climb Dune 45 for spectacular sunrise views over the dunes (optional).

8:00 AM: Sossusvlei - Drive to Sossusvlei. 4x4 transfer through the deep sand to the vlei.

9:00 AM: Deadvlei - Walk to Deadvlei. Photograph the iconic dead trees against red dunes.

11:00 AM: Big Daddy - Optional climb of Big Daddy (325m), one of the world's tallest dunes.

1:00 PM: Picnic Lunch - Enjoy a packed lunch in the shade of the dunes.

3:00 PM: Return to Camp - Return to camp for rest and relaxation.

5:00 PM: Sesriem Canyon - Visit Sesriem Canyon, a deep narrow gorge carved by the Tsauchab River.

7:00 PM: Dinner & Stargazing - Second night of delicious camp dinner and stargazing.

No, our guides set up camp and prepare meals. All camping equipment is provided. Just bring your personal items and a sense of adventure. We make camping comfortable and enjoyable with quality gear and delicious meals.
Walking is on sand which can be tiring. Dune climbs are optional and can be skipped if needed. The walk to Deadvlei is about 1.5km each way on relatively flat terrain. A moderate fitness level is recommended but not required.
We use comfortable dome tents with sleeping mats and pillows. Sleeping bags are provided or can be rented. Camp facilities include shared ablution blocks with hot showers. The campsite is well-maintained and safe, offering a true desert experience.
Bring comfortable walking shoes, sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses), warm layers for cold desert nights, a camera with extra batteries (cold drains batteries), a headlamp or torch, and a reusable water bottle. A small daypack is also useful.
The best time is during the dry season from June to October when temperatures are moderate and the skies are clear for stargazing. Summer months (November-February) can be very hot with temperatures exceeding 40°C (104°F).
Sossusvlei is the large clay pan surrounded by towering red dunes. Deadvlei is a smaller clay pan famous for its dead camel thorn trees that stand in stark contrast against the white clay floor and red dunes. Both are must-see highlights of the tour.
